Kevin Pincus grew up in a small suburb on the Jersey shore known as Toms River. He attended college at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville Florida where he received his BA in Art and Geography in 1996. After graduating he traveled and worked until 1998 when he began his masters studies in fine arts at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. In 2001 he received his MFA in Painting and Drawing. In 2002 Kevin relocated to San Francisco in order to immerse himself among his contemporaries and further his development and career as a painter.

Among his influences are the abstract expressionist sculptor David Smith and painters such as Willem de Kooning and Franz Kline. His contemporary influences are Robert Irwin, Cecily Brown, Sandow Birk and others. Kevin remains in San Francisco where he spends his days working construction and his nights in his studio. He believes it is important to maintain an aggressive studio narrative and not to take things too seriously.
